Smart Technologies

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9 October 2026

Smart Technologies Computer Institute ("Smart Technologies", "we", "us") is a sole-proprietor business based in Dowlaiswaram, Andhra Pradesh, India. We provide computer training and develop and license School Management Software. This notice describes how we handle personal information through our website and in connection with our services.

1. Information we collect

2. Why we use this information

We use enquiry details to contact people about their requests; administer training, practical assessments and certificates; deliver and support our software; troubleshoot problems; protect our systems; and maintain records where necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes. We do not use the optional course-interest field for anything unrelated to responding to or organising training enquiries.

3. Where website enquiries are stored

Our website enquiry form currently saves submissions in a CSV file in a non-public directory of our hosting account, outside the public website folder. The file is not intended to be publicly downloadable. Access depends on hosting-account permissions and the safeguards maintained by the account administrator and hosting provider.

Our website uses HTTPS for information sent between your browser and the website. We take reasonable steps to protect records, but no website or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

4. School Management Software and school records

Schools are generally responsible for deciding what student, parent, teacher and staff records are entered into their systems and for providing appropriate notices and obtaining any required permissions. Smart Technologies provides the software and relevant technical support. We may access or process school information when necessary to implement, maintain, troubleshoot or support the software, subject to our arrangements with the school. Requests about school-controlled records should usually be directed to the relevant school first.

5. When information may be shared

We do not sell personal information submitted through our enquiry form. Information may be accessible to hosting or technical service providers that help operate our website or software, to authorised persons who provide our services, or when disclosure is required by law. We do not publish enquiry names and phone numbers on our website.

6. Cookies and external services

Our enquiry form uses a session mechanism to help protect submissions. Our homepage may load external services such as Google Fonts and Google AdSense scripts. These services may receive technical information and may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies and browser settings. We are not claiming that all tracking or advertising cookies are disabled. See Google's Privacy Policy for Google's practices.

7. How long we retain information

We keep enquiry and service records as needed to respond to requests, administer courses, provide technical support, maintain business records and meet applicable obligations. We have not established a single fixed deletion period for every category of record. If information is no longer needed, we will review requests for deletion and remove it where reasonably possible and permitted by applicable requirements.

8. Children and student information

Our training services and software can involve minors. Parents or guardians should assist younger learners with enquiries and provide permissions where required. Schools are responsible for notices and permissions relating to the school records they collect and manage. We ask public enquiry users not to submit sensitive personal or school records through the enquiry form.

9. Your questions and requests

You may contact us to ask what enquiry information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We may ask for reasonable verification before making changes. Some information may need to be retained for legitimate or legal reasons. For data held by a school using our software, please contact the school first.
